3 games, 6 days.

3 games in 6 days has meant a gruelling few days on the field for the Gaels. First up was Parnells in the 3rd round of the London Intermediate C'ship last Wednesday 1st June. This was always going to be a tough game for Holloway and Parnells did not relent from the throw-in. Holloways midfield and defence battled tirelessly against the Parnell’s pressure and while the Gaels showed fierce determination throughout the game, Parnells ran out eventual winners with a final scoreline of Parnells 2-9 Holloway Gaels 2-6.

Next up Holloway travelled to Goodmayes in East London last Saturday 4th June to take on Thomas McCurtains in the 4th round of C'ship. Holloway started the stronger side and they were soon into the lead, in front by 9 points at half time. However tired legs from Wednesday’s game meant the pace of the game slowed and McCurtains capitalised on this and hit back in the 2nd half, winning most of the possession. Holloway were soon under pressure to stay in the lead and managed to hang on with a few late scores to secure a one-point win, final score Holloway 2-7 McCurtains 1-9.

On Tuesday 7th June in sweltering conditions, Holloway took on KKG in the first round of the London Senior League. The heat and last few games had a serious impact on this game but a strong 2nd half performance from the Gaels proved they are serious contenders in London this summer. Some super scores and excellent defensive and support play saw Holloway come away with a final scoreline of Holloway Gaels 2-18 KKG 3-4.

The team will now return to training until their next test against Fulham Irish in the Mary
Feehan Cup on Wednesday 15th June at 7.30pm in Downhills Park. All support welcome.

New Sponsor
Holloway Gaels are delighted to welcome Tommy Flynn’s of Holloway Road on board as a new sponsor. The team were warmly welcomed to the Holloway Road pub after their win on Saturday – the club would like to extend a huge thank you to Helena and staff and are looking forward to future Holloway visits already!
